How the PDF translator works

Instead, this tool reads the text out of your PDF — using the real text layer when there is one, and OCR (optical character recognition) for scanned or image-only pages — translates it paragraph by paragraph with AI, and hands you clean, readable output as a Word doc or plain text.

- Text PDFs (exported from Word, Google Docs, most tools): the text is read directly, fast and accurate.
- Scanned PDFs (photos or scans of paper): each page is read with OCR before translating. Clear, straight scans work best.
